This tour has taken place for over a decade and tells the tales of prehistoric mystery, Underground Railroad hauntings, legendary authors, and the like. It’s been said that Lockport as one of WNY’s oldest towns has a truly bizarre past. But don’t take anyone’s word for it. Go see for yourself on the next Paranormal Walk where you’ll meet at Lake Effect Ice Cream for an interactive tours covering the paranormal, ghosts, conspiracies, and more. Pro Tip: there’s free parking in the Discovery Center lot.

Haunted Fortress Tours at Fort Niagara

Location, location, location. If that’s your motto, this one’s for you. Tour the darkened spaces of the fort and meet spooky people from its violent past. Old Fort Niagara’s centuries-old buildings offer more than a few ghost stories, from the headless ghost that reputedly haunts the 1726 French Castle to unexplained shadows, slamming doors and eerie orbs. Get the opportunity to experience the Fort’s dark and mysterious past during the Haunted Fortress, set for October 15 and 22. This tour is not recommended for children under 8 years of age.
Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village Séance Series

Join the fun at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village for a night of frights as they celebrate Halloween with a Victorian Séance Series. These programs are being designed especially for BNHV by Buffalo History Tours and will focus on Spiritualism, Victorian mourning culture, and how death impacted the Western New York community in the 19th century. Each evening will begin with a talk and finish with a Victorian-style séance. This year they will offer two different séance styles after the lecture: the Trumpet Horn program and the Crystal Ball program. Learn more about both here.
